Staying well-hydrated is essential for our bodies to function at their best. One of my ongoing health challenges is that I tend to get dehydrated, which often leads to headaches and low energy. My Nurse Practitioner has gently reminded me—more than once—that I need to be more intentional about hydration.
As a teacher, it’s not always easy to stay on top of water intake during the school year since access to a bathroom isn’t exactly flexible! That’s why summer feels like the perfect time to build better hydration habits.
Over the next week, my goal is to drink at least 8 cups of water each day, in addition to my usual coffee and tea. Eventually, I’d love to move toward drinking mostly water, saving other beverages for occasional treats.
I’ll be sharing updates on social media throughout the week and plan to post a blog update in a week to reflect on how it’s going—and whether I notice any changes in how I feel….. or look.
Here’s to better hydration and better health!
Ruth
